In 2012 in the former Ark in Jay, Tom & Marilyn Van Hoose opened this ministry. Ministries range from Bible studies, outreach to children, Christian Motorcycle Club meetings and training.
For over ten years Newsong has had a heart for the people of Kenwood. In the recent years we have helped with outreaches supporting Holy Mountain Church in Kenwood with Pastor Sue Chancellor. We have committed to support them in prayer and ministry events. Holy Mountain has matured and been a huge blessing and ministry to the community of Kenwood. God is moving in Kenwood, OK!!
Newsong first saw the Rosebud Reservation of the great Sioux Nation in 2010. In June of 2013 about 25 people from Newsong went to a mission in Ideal, SD with Pastor Alfred Oldlodge. We have connected with them in spirit and we are committed to return to Ideal and surrounding Sioux towns in June of 2014. Also Alfred and his family are planning to come to Grove and Newsong in March 2014 for the first time. Our ministry there is outreach, children's ministry, some building projects, deliverance and pastoral support.
In 2001 after much prayer and seeking, the Lord led Newsong to a particular city/region in Asia. In the past 12 years we have visited several times and have seen several saved by the power of the gospel and relationships. Our long term calling to this region is strong and clear: "go and make disciples". Our prayer and strategy has been two fold. One is have a presence in the city for the form of friendship evangelism and the second is to connect and support the church in the region. We are seeing the latter of those two objectives take form this year.
Several of us at Newsong have been to the Caribbean. We first visited there in 1999. Since then there have been 21 trips. Steve and Cindi have planted 2 Bible schools with a heart to raise and train leaders in the body of Christ. We have seen well over 200 graduates of these schools in that time. Bible schools continue to train pastors who graduate twice a year.
In the fall of 2013 we met Pastor Rakesh from India. After connecting with him it was so very apparent that we are connected in the spirit and God has a purpose. Pastor Rakesh has invited Newsong to come to India and help spread the gospel. The nation of India is seeing a great harvest and we are planning to be a part of that. We have agreed to partner with Pastor Rakesh in our first crusade to India planned in the spring of 2015. We hope to assemble a team of 6-8 that have a heart to see the gospel spread in India. www.shekinahim.org
Jeff & Sarah Lovelady have answered the call of missions and are planning to be on staff at The Sparrow’s Nest in Jelgava, Latvia. They are planning to arrive in March of 2015. The Sparrow’s Nest is a ministry that ministers to orphaned, abandoned and neglected children. www.thesparrowsnest.org
In 1999 support began for David & Linda Arzouni. David and Linda are hard core missionaries to Muslims in Mali, Africa. They have a ministry of community projects and establishing churches. www.arzouni.com
It was in 1997 that Newsong Church first saw Mexico. Then just 1 year old we assembled a team and went to minister in Mexico. Our ministry was mainly childrens’ events, night services and door to door evangelism. We became great friends with many pastors and missionaries. We were led in large part by Alvin and Margaret Lee. Since 1997 we have made 30+ trips to Mexico and we have been the recipients of so many blessings that God has given us. Today we are supporting Voice in the Wilderness Ministries run by Steve & Theresa Frey in Cd. Valles. We are also blessed to support Joshua & Allison Long Herrera, missionaries to Mexico in Juchitan, Oaxaca.
In the fall of 2013 two members of Newsong leadership went to the Middle East. They are teaching English at the college level and are using relationships to advance the gospel of Jesus Christ. They are committed until May 2015. This is at the heart of the 10/40 window where the gospel needs to be spread.
In 2005 we felt like the Lord was calling us as a church body to help be a part of the solution to the orphan epidemic that was happening in Africa due to the AIDS virus. In 2006 we went to Mufulira, Zambia where the Lord led us to open Green Forest School & Orphanage. GFSO was opened in 2012 and has become home to 8 children in that area that have become orphaned. This is huge area of need and there are so many more children that need help. We are called and committed to this crisis in Zambia. In that time frame we have made several trips to Zambia for this effort. Ministry opportunities are there now for us to care for and teach children. www.greenforestzambia.com.
